Hey, everyone!
I thought I'd jot down five of my favorite go-to beauty tips. These are all steps I use personally, and recommend using if you feel the need.
1. Use body makeup to even out your skin tone.
Do you ever feel self conscious about your legs when wearing dresses in the summer? I do! Sometimes I feel like my skin tone is uneven. Or my legs aren't "glowy" enough. That's where Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs comes in! I use the lotion, rather than the spray. And I use it in medium. One layer of this stuff and you are good to go. Do you have bumps or hair growing in? Then use two layers! I always use two layers. Adding layers does NOT make the color much darker at all. It just increases the opacity. This product is a must for me when summer rolls around, and its waterproof. It will stay on while you rinse in the shower as long as you don't scrub it off with soap! It does NOT transfer onto your clothes (though I am unsure about white wedding dresses!), and lasts for DAYS!
2. Fill in sparse areas of hair with a root cover up.
Sometimes when I put my hair up, I see gaps where my hair is more thin - sometimes where it looks nonexistent. I also think my hairline is a bit crazy sometimes and needs evened out. Solution? L'Oreal Paris Hair Color Root Cover Up. I use this stuff ALL the time! It comes in a little spray bottle and lasts a long time. Be careful when you spray it though, because it can stain clothes. It's best to use before you get dressed. And if you are already dressed, throw on an old robe you don't care about before you spray.
3. Instead of swiping on lipstick, dab it. I pretty much never swipe on lipstick, and I haven't in years. Instead, I dab it on. I like a lot of lipstick, so I probably do 10-20 dabs per application. I find that this method creates a more puffy, voluptuous lip. I'm not a huge fan of a super defined pout, so this gives me a more subtle and whimsical effect. It's also super easy to layer different colors this way, adding different amounts of each color until you get the desired shade.
4. Shop at Marshalls for outrageous deals on makeup. Okay, I have to admit... Marshalls is my favorite store. Aside from Ulta. My two favorite things at Marshalls are: their stellar junior's clothes section, and the makeup section. So many of the products I use I found at Marshalls. They regularly have high-end, department store makeup. What are some of the items I've purchased there you ask? MAC lipsticks, Anastasia Beverly Hills lipsticks, blush, eyeshadow and contour palettes. Becca highlighter, NARS bronzer, Laura Mercier kits, and more! Those are just the items off the top of my head. If you want to try more expensive brands but don't want to spend too much money, look around your local Marshalls and you're sure to come across some great finds!
